YEAH. BUDDY. Republicans own the house of representatives.
Here's what I have to say to liberals and democrats:
So - who knows how the rest of it is going to go - but for those of you watching overseas or those who aren't as involved here in the US - just a few quick facts:
We have three branches of government - executive (president - signs laws) legislative (senate/house of representatives - write laws) and judicial (Supreme court - interprets law - or in the case of our newest two nominees appointed by Obama who write laws from the bench with no way for anyone to stop them).
Judicial branch serves until they retire or die, Presidents serve for UP TO TWO-Four Year terms, Senate for six years, and house of representatives for 2 years with 1/3 of the senate being voted for every 2 years.
But the deal here is of the two chambers of the legislative branch (senate / house of representatives) - the house of representatives controls the budget and has the power to investigate and impeach (bring charges against for a trial).
And with all the shenanigans that have been going on - the new Speaker of the House has vowed the following:
The Republicans will de-fund Obamacare so it can't operate and can't be enforced.
The Republicans thereby will have the majority of the seats on the investigations committees - and guess what's going to happen? They've vowed to keep the president so busy answering subpoenas he's not going to have time to sign anything else and they are going to get to the bottom of the criminal activity in our congress.
Not sure what's going on here in Oregon - about the only thing that republicans and democrats agree on in this state is that we don't have any sales tax.
Anyways, for now, Obama is being stopped and Americans are Pissed - and the ones who aren't are part of the problem or are smoking something.....
