Lionel Messi wins World Footballer of the Year 2011

Argentinian soccer star and Barcelona FC striker, Lionel Messi, was crowned the best player in the world for the second year running at an award ceremony that took place today in Germany.

The 23-year-old footballer scored an astounding 60 goals last year while playing for both his club team and his country.

I was rooting for Xavi. Oh well, congrats to Messi.
