Apparently there's a plan afoot to help prepare to blow up an asteroid coming to earth using astronauts and all that special effects stuff that Bruce Willis has already done in real life in pretend movies.
Aside from the issues of asteroids not having gravity and therefore all sorts of Jerry Bruckheimer stunts to land on the asteroids being needed, I do have one question though: Why all of a sudden in earth's history do we now need to protect ourselves against these things?
Life on earth has survived quite well (except for the dinosaurs because they weren't smart enough to blow up asteroids) without us doing this, and now all of a sudden we need this capability.
