Having a kid at 50, that's an accident. Getting bit by a black widow spider 19 times and dying from it...that's just.....bad luck. 
All I can say is he must've pissed that thing off baaad so it bit him 19 times - sounds like it was trapped in his boot. And it inspires me actually because it took 2 weeks to kill him. Thats enough time to set a lot of things in order, rather than going with my arm rotting off to the ER while I vomit my guts out and missing saying goodbye to my kids.....not that I'd want to.
Strange how when you're truly faced with the end you suddenly discover just how much "I DIDNT MEAN IT!" and you really want to live.
