The US Army's last draftee is retiring after 39 years of service. Instead of going to Vietnam, he got sent to be a clerk in Germany. After that he enlisted in the Army Rangers making 3,700+ parachute jumps and surviving 27 roadside bombs in the current conflict and is now retiring as a Command Sergeant Major.I enjoy the enlisted men in many ways more than the officers as they don't have time for BS, but I enjoy the officers because they often have some unique perspectives on the BS so that you can look at it from a different angle and have it look like a piece of...........artful BS.
He's got some interesting stories about the issues the Army faced way back when on drugs, women, race and the likes. I'll let you read the article yourself but it is an interesting read.
