Dennis Miller is probably one of my favorite talk radio show hosts. A former comedian on Saturday Night Live, I have to confess, he's also the one I have the hardest time following! Dennis, having been in Hollywood and in comedy for years is exceptionally culturally aware of the latest fashions, celebrities, movies, movie plots, directors, taglines, trivia and....about everything I'm not....not only does he talk politics, he relates a lot of it to that aspect of American Culture with which I am least familiar. So while his show is a laugh a minute, it's also a quizzical "ehhhh....ha?" a minute for me too because of my disconnectednesslyshipfulness or whatever you want to call it in celebrity culture. HOWEVER he also has an ability to cut like a knife through the Hollywood BS put on by our president. Having been, as he calls it, a "teleprompter chimp" and an actor and entertainer for years, Dennis is exceptionally qualified to comment on public presentation, the structure of presentation, mannerisms, and he does so in a detail I have never heard, even from Rush Limbaugh, and it's devastating to whoever he does it to.
More than that, as a comedian, his show is not the usual "blah blah blah bash Obama idiot stupid suck" that you hear often in radio, but he draws out the issues that only a comedian would be able to pull out and put a spin on. And he does it with quite the aire of savoire faire sophistication that comes from someone who's educated and aware of the world and what's going on in it socially. And thats when you realize just how ridiculously stupid our president REALLY is.
If I was to characterize his show? Funny, educating and mellow and non-contentious.
