Wow - even in Iowa - the judges who voted for gay marriage and "passed laws" from the bench requiring it to take place - got voted out.
At the local level we vote for judges in the states. We get down to the state level though and I'm a bit fuzzy on how things work.
For example, here in Oregon - the western frontier - our legislature only meets every 2 years. Why? Because it took so long to get to the capitol on horseback from around the state..............
I hope I'm not a disenfranchised voter again here in Oregon - I swear they only count democrat ballots in this state because everything I'm seeing indicates this would be a red-state - but - Cornilles got defeated last night (republican) and Rape-resentative wu won again with his simian countenance....but it looks like Dudley may win the governorship here (Republican) - we NEED it. I just want ONE TIME my vote to have voted for a winner.
With the electoral college - I voted for Bush both times but Oregon's electoral college with the popular vote voted for Kerry and Obama.....idiots. At least we don't have sales tax. So - if Dudley wins - who was a pro-basketball player in the NBA for the Blazers - SOMEone I voted for will have won.....once......because of my vote not just by pure chance.....
