History was made today Monday May 24, 2010, as Virgin Atlantic operated its maiden flight to Accra Ghana. The flight touched down about 4pm Ghana time and was received by Ghana's Minister of Transport.

Also on the tarmac to welcome the Chairman of the Virgin Group, Sir Richard Branson, was Chief John Adebanjo, the facilitator of Virgin operations in Nigeria and Ghana. He was supported by the Publisher of Ovation International, Chief Dele Momodu.

After the traditional formalities, Sir Richard Branson addressed a brief Press Conference before driving to the Presidential Castle to pay a courtesy call on Ghana's President John Atta-Mills.
