Heard this on the speakers at Pier One Imports in Hillsboro where my wife used to work. Was out on a walk with the Fam down the Rock Creek Trail and had to stop in to use the little boys room when I heard a kinda catchy tune over the speakers but couldn't quite hear what it was. Anyways, texted the lyrics to myself and looked it up and voila! Pier one always has some sort of "alternate" music - not the alternative like Nirvana alternative - like "Harry Connick Jr." or something swing or pop from the 1930's, 1940's or even 1920's. Actually a lot of Portland has stuff like that blowing around here over the speakers.
This is totally something that would come out of Portland. Much as I can't stand our politics, and some aspects of the culture drive me nuts, if it didn't come out of Portland, I could totally see a Muscial like this being acted out somewhere or spontaneously happening in Portland. But they aren't - they are from Denmark - "The Astroid Galaxy Tour" with their website here. But Portland would totally welcome them.
The other one we had here recently was a bunch of actors totally dressed to the hilt like they were in an Austin Powers movie and playing that they were radioactive nuke specialists handling biological nuclear waste and cordoning off the park in Portland over by Lloyd Center and the city going nuts over it and wondering what was going on while the actors told the police they didn't have the authority to question them as they emptied the park and pretended to examine leaves and trash and contain the trash cans and the swings so nobody wanted to touch them for a day.......
Anways, feel free to get it stuck in your head. Apparently this song was an advertisement originally for Heineken (?).
