I was thinking this the other day as I looked at election maps in the U.S. About 98% of U.S. land is either rural or undeveloped (when you factor in Alaska - without it it's like 95% or so - is - roughly - whatever).
Anyways, most of America is NOT like what we see on TV - TV is a foreign environment in a lot of ways to the US - a foreign world - and in a lot of ways - some of the following link - haven't changed much still: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/12/7/04913/9030
We still live in the sticks. I grew up out in the country - but - anyways - this was interesting to look at.
