the following is an email I received from the National Organization of Women actually organizing "astroturf" - fake enthusiasm!  Bussing people in from out of state or out of town to precincts that aren't even theirs! Notice it's thinly disguised but - that's what they are doing!  Of course you don't expect them to use the words "astroturf" - but then democrats and liberals never say what they mean.
News Flash: NOW/PAC's Emergency

"Adopt a Campaign" is Working!

Since NOW/PAC sent out its first challenge last Friday, dozens and dozens of you have "adopted" Lois Herr and Joe Sestak -- and the phones are ringing in Pennsylvania to ratchet up the enthusiasm and get out the vote for these stellar feminist candidates. Some of you are arranging to go to Lancaster, Pa., for on-the-ground campaigning in the last days before the election. That's the NOW spirit, and we thank you.

Because feminist activists NEVER give up, NOW/PAC is continuing our final push to defend our champions and build a surge of feminist votes on Election Day. Next up is California. With almost 18 million registered voters, (nearly 8 million Democrats and close to 4 million Independents), that's a lot of people to call -- but we cannot let our opponents derail two of our most ardent congressional champions.

Rep. Loretta Sanchez defeated arch conservative Bob Dornan in 1996 in a tight Orange County race. Today California's 47th district is 69 percent Hispanic and 15 percent Vietnamese-American, and Sanchez faces a tough challenge from Van Tran, who is counting on high turnout from his community. Sanchez has been a consistent and fervent supporter of women's rights, speaking out for women's equality and our right to be paid fairly and to be free from violence. In her role as the highest ranking woman on the House Armed Services Committee, Sanchez has worked on behalf of women in the military to restore reproductive health services and stop sexual assault and rape. Right now the polls show a tie, but there are many undecided voters, and we must reach out to them.

Sen. Barbara Boxer faces former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, who is campaigning on an anti-choice, anti-marriage equality platform. By contrast, Boxer was the lead sponsor of the Violence Against Women Act when she was in the House and is always a leader on NOW's core issues in the Senate. Sen. John McCain recently tried to rouse California voters by describing Boxer as a bitter partisan and unpleasant person. Attacks like this demonstrate why we need to keep Boxer in the Senate, speaking out on behalf of equality and justice for all.

Don't live in California? No problem. If the races in your state aren't even close, you can Adopt a Campaign in California by making phone calls from home or donating money. And if you do live in California, you can go to a local campaign office and help with phone banking and door knocking.

If you can make phone calls as a volunteer for the NOW/PAC, send your name and contact information (including the city and state where you live) to our NOW/PAC volunteer, and you'll be sent a list to call for both Loretta Sanchez and Barbara Boxer.

Thanks for helping to keep our women's rights champions on Capitol Hill! Your calls will make a difference!
